Feeling Stressed? Eat Walnuts ...

... it is advice from a new study, published in the Journal of American College of Nutrition.

Researchers found that a diet rich in walnuts and walnut oil can help the body to better handle stressful situations.

Michael West, associate professor in biobehavioral health, said this:

People who shows an exaggerated biological response to stress is a higher risk of heart disease ...We wanted to find out if the Omega-3 fatty acids from vegetable sources would dull cardiovascular response to stress.Source

Their research showed that add the walnuts and walnut oil to diet to reduce blood pressure and blood pressure both rest response to stress.

Walnuts are a rich source of antioxidants, fiber and unsaturated fatty acids, especially alpha linolenic acid acid, an omega-3 fatty acids. and it is likely that these connections are responsible for the beneficial effects.

This is the first study shows that walnuts and walnut oil to reduce blood pressure under stress ...This is important because we cannot avoid all stressors in our daily lives. this study shows that a dietary change could help our bodies to better respond to stress.

Here are a few tips to add walnuts or walnut oil to your diet:

Eat the walnuts as a snack--around 18 Walnut halves filled up a serving. Add a tablespoon walnut oil to homemade salad dressings or shakes the walnuts on top of your salad. Top oats and yoghurt with crushed walnuts. Add walnuts for your home cooked recipes, such as zucchini bread or carrot cake.
